While this article isn't a legal document, we understand the importance of data flow transparency to our users, and are committed to becoming a certified service provider.
Personal Identifiable Information (PII) flow
Summary: the only PII we store in our database is the account owner's email. Usernames & "About me" fields are not stored in our database — they are stored in the user's browser cookies and can be deleted by the user at any time.
There are 4 roles that a SpatialChat user may have while using the product:
- Space Account Owner (permanent Admin permissions)
- Admin - anyone (including Space Account Owner) in possession of the admin password
- Host - a person who is exempt from Space permission restrictions, and who can also turn OFF other people's microphone and camera
- Attendee - a regular user visiting the event
Space Account Owners are required to enter their email at the time of Space creation for the purpose of account management and email communications.
All users who log into the Space are required to fill in their attendee name (any text, not necessarily their full name) & "About me" section. This data is stored in the user's browser cookies — it is not stored in our database.
Payment information management
We use Stripe as our payment processor. We DO NOT store any credit card data in our SpatialChat systems. All of our customers' credit card data is securely handled by Stripe, one of the foremost industry-leading payment processors.
