In SpatialChat, you can show everyone in the room your screen, application window, or browser tab.
To do this, you need to click this button on the bottom panel.
Next, you can choose what exactly you want to show in the room:
If you are using Apple devices, some of the options here may not be available.
To fix this, follow this instruction: https://www.cbd.int/conferences/sbstta24-sbi3-prep/mac-screen-sharing.
Note that broadcasting the entire screen places more load on your and your participants' computers than broadcasting a single application. Broadcasting a browser tab creates even less load.
Share screen with audio
Want to stream some audio from another webpage?
This is now possible if you are using Google Chrome.
- Windows: only Google Chrome - Chrome tab or Entire desktop with any app with audio/music
- Mac: only Google Chrome tab audio streaming
If you want to stream audio content in Chrome, follow these steps:
- choose "Share Desktop"
- choose "Chrome Tab"
- select your Google Chrome tab with music [optional: on Windows PC you can also choose "Your Entire Screen"]
- Check the "Share audio" checkbox (see screenshot below)
- And click "Share"
People will see your screen sharing and will hear the sound.
The sound volume of the streamed tab is global, and you control its volume from the source tab (for example, the volume toggle in a music streaming tab)
Please note that this method's sound quality is not excellent, and we cannot influence this.
How to share a PDF
You can open your PDF file in another browser tab and then you can share this browser tab.
But to control your presentation and scroll it down, you need to switch to the PDF tab.
If you have two monitors, you can move one of the tabs to another monitor. This way, you can manipulate the PDF and see the reactions of your listeners.
In case you have only one monitor, we recommend converting your PDF file to PPT format (for example, using this service https://smallpdf.com/pdf-to-ppt) and using the method below.
